When was the last time you have cloned your best customers? I know it's crazy, but you can do it. Cloning your best customers is a great way to grow your business in a way that doesn't drive you mad. Here is what you need to do step-by-step.
- Identify the top 10% of your customers. You have to know exactly which customers are the most fun to work with, the most profitable. In other words which of your customers would you be happy to have 100 more tomorrow.
- How did your acquire the customer? Did a referral land you the client? Did you advertise? Did you attend a trade show? Were you part of a publication? Were you a speaker somewhere? Do you meet them at a function?
- If you acquired the customer as a referral, what can you do to get more of it. The point is you need to identify what worked and scale it.
Once you profiled your best customers and you understand where they come from your are ready to develop your strategy to clone. It is not a simple process but it is doable. Most companies don't take the time to do it. They simple take what they can get, happy when they have more business and sad when things slow down. You don't want to be one of them, I know I don't.
